WHO ARE WE?
GRAWL (Green River Animal Welfare League, Inc.)
is a non-profit, all volunteer organization originally
formed in 2003 to bring a much-needed animal shelter
to Adair, Metcalfe, and Russell Counties.
GRAWL’s purpose is to educate and inform pet
owners about the importance of spaying and neutering,
and the humane ways to care for their pets.
Events are being planned for the future; look for
announcements of upcoming events.
ADOPT AN OLDER ANIMAL
Puppies and kittens are certainly cute, and they grow up
rapidly. Then what?
Not every household is the right place for a young
animal. They shed, chew on things, claw things, and
need to be housebroken. Young animals are amazingly
energetic and play a lot; an older animal will tend to
sleep more than a younger animal will. Living with an
animal takes some adjusting. All animals need human
companionship.
You must have the time and patience to devote to their
training for animals to become good, well-behaved pets.
Older animals, however, may have already been
housebroken, spayed or neutered and leash trained.
They need to comfort and love of a stable home and lots
of tender loving care. In return, your affection and
devotion to them will be returned ten fold. Older
animals make wonderful companions!
